Contract Award: School Lane, West Kingsdown

Our new project providing 13 new homes for English Rural Housing Association, is designed to address local housing needs in the rural community of West Kingsdown.

The development features a mix of affordable and private homes, with 10 homes managed by English Rural and three retained by WW Martin. Designed to complement the local character and natural surroundings, the houses create a visually appealing, high-quality residential area that blends seamlessly with the landscape.

A well-planned site layout includes a central shared open space, fostering a sense of community among residents.

Ecological enhancements have also been integrated to protect and promote local wildlife, such as the inclusion of ‘badger corridors’ to connect their setts and foraging areas, and ‘wildlife kerbs’ to ensure safe passage for amphibians around road gullies and drainage openings.

When complete, the development will align with local and national policies promoting sustainable and high-quality rural housing. It not only addresses a critical housing need in West Kingsdown and the surrounding district but also delivers long-term benefits for the community and the environment.
