Project of the Year - Goat Lees School
Goat Lees School in Ashford has been named Project of the Year at the 2014 Kent Design & Development Awards. The school has won other awards including Best Educational Building for the South East LABC Building Excellence Awards.
WW Martin worked with the KCC, Ashford Borough Council and designers Pellings to create a modern, energy efficient school building that provides an
excellent environment for learning. The building's design is unusual and has
required innovative, mutually agreed design solutions to comply with building
regulations that utilise the natural light and ventilation.
Teresa Adams, headteacher at Goat Lees Primary School, said: "We
are delighted that our amazing building has been recognised through these
awards.The
school is now in its second year and we are delighted that we are now such an
integral part of our local community."
