Project Progress: Giles Lane Student Accommodation, Canterbury

We are pleased to report continued excellent progress at the Giles Lane Student Accommodation project at the University of Kent, with several key milestones recently achieved.

With the new student term approaching, all efforts on site are focused on completing the remaining works. Recent achievements include the full completion and connection of all building services, with the building now operating on permanent power and water supplies.

Works to the main roof are also now complete, with planting of the green roof scheduled for the appropriate growing season to avoid the current hot weather.

Mechanical and electrical works have advanced significantly, with the second and final fix nearing completion and all building commissioning activities progressing well.

Internally, finishing works are in their final stages, with completion and handover dates in sight. Final decorations, installation of all new furniture, fixtures, and equipment is underway, and the lift has been installed ready for commissioning.

Finally, external works are also progressing well and are on track for completion shortly, as the combined efforts of everyone on site drive the project towards final completion.
