​Welcoming Daniel to WW Martin for Work Experience

We are delighted to have had the opportunity to welcome Daniel, a local student from Dane Court Grammar School, Broadstairs for a week of work experience with us.

With a keen interest in sustainability, marketing and communications, Daniel has spent the week with our technical and business development teams, gaining insight into how we promote our business activities and manage the technical aspects of our projects.

As Daniel’s placement coincided with National Apprenticeship Week (NAW), Daniel also had the chance to visit two of our sites, meet our apprentices, and hear first-hand about their learning pathways and experiences through our Employment, Apprenticeship & Training Programme (EATP).

He was also fortunate to meet local MP Polly Billington during her visit to one of our Thanet District Council’s affordable homes construction sites in Margate, as part of her time with us to mark NAW and highlight her support for apprenticeships in the construction industry. Finally, to finish his week, Daniel spent time with our team on site at our Beacon School project for Kent County Council.

Reflecting on his time with us, Daniel said:

"I’ve found the week really interesting, especially seeing how different teams work together on projects. Hearing from apprentices about their journeys has made me seriously consider a career in construction."
