Contract Award - Lydden Primary School
We are delighted to have won the contract to build a new sports and assembly hall at this primary school In Dover.
The existing school hall was built in the 1950s and is in need of updating; being cold, draughty and located away from the main school building, meaning staff and students had to go outside at all times of the year to access the facility.
The building will be replaced by a new single-storey sports and assembly hall fit for delivery of the current curriculum, with associated spaces for dining and storage, an accessible toilet and new office area. A new corridor will be created to link the new hall directly to the main building, enabling a direct indoor route for pupils, improving access for visitors to school events, and forming a central focal point for the school community.
New parking areas for staff and visitors will also be provided, mitigating the current traffic problems along the narrow village road on which the school is located.
Designed by Bailey Partnership, the scheme will provide a much-needed upgrade to the facilities available to the school, and will be the latest in a series of education projects for Kent County Council.
