Contract Award - Megger Instruments

A ground breaking ceremony this week in Dover marked the start of the our works on site to deliver the first phase of a multi-million pound development for our client Megger at their Dover HQ and manufacturing plant in Kent.

Following a competitive tender process at the end of last year, we are very pleased to have commenced works this month.

Working closely with the project team which includes Clague Architects, project managers Modus and engineers Evans and Langford, we have commenced the demolition in earnest. This will be followed by the construction of the proposed new 2 storey manufacturing building, and the refurbishment of an existing building to provide a new test room. The expansion plans have been developed by our client Megger to meet growing worldwide demand for their products.

Megger, established in the 1800s designs and manufactures portable electrical test and measurement instruments that perform electrical measurements for preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and commissioning. The site at Dover has been the location of Megger's headquarters since the 1960’s and currently employs 260 highly skilled staff in the design, development and manufacture of electrical testing equipment.

Attending the ground breaking ceremony, Cllr Sue Chandler, Chairman of Dover District Council said:

“Megger has been an important part of the Dover district’s economy for over fifty years, providing skilled local employment and exporting products ‘made in Dover’ across the world. I am delighted to join Megger to break the ground on the next exciting phase of their development in Dover.”
