Contract Award - Megger Switch Room

Following on from the successful delivery of Phases 1A and 1B for Megger, we are delighted to have been awarded a further contract. This most recent phase of works will involve the delivery of a new ‘Switch room’ building and the refurbishment to the original generator housing.

Working alongside UKPN, the project involves the relocation of the old electrical transformers to a new area and the installation of a new 700KVA back-up generator and a new GRP (Glass-fibre Reinforced Polyester) enclosure.

The contract will be carried out over a 16 - week programme with the cutting-out and the construction of a new retaining wall at the relocation site now underway. Once the new GRP enclosure is installed, all power supply to the old and newly built factories will be changed to the new equipment over a 4 week duration, whilst the factory remains occupied and in production.

Upon completion of the new Switch room building, works will be undertaken to refurbish the old generator building with the installation of a new roof, windows, doors, dry lining and painting and decorations throughout.
