​Contract Award: New Primary Substation Development, Kent and Canterbury Hospital, Canterbury

Our Special Projects team are back on site at the Kent & Canterbury Hospital to deliver vital new upgrade works in the form of a new primary substation / power supply to the hospital.

This most recent project of ours follows the completion of the new mechanical thrombectomy unit and the various refurbishment works we successfully delivered within the hospital earlier this year.

Considered a vitally important project, this new contract involves the installation of a new primary substation building to help control and manage the complete energy needs for the entire hospital site.When complete, the building will house a major new switchroom and a support generator, with the generator providing emergency power if ever required for the Accident and Emergency Building.

Given the hugely sensitive and important nature of the works, our team, including our specialist subcontractor partners, are working in partnership with East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust and the wider hospital team in Canterbury to ensure the smooth running of the hospital, with continuity of electrical supply throughout.
