Contract Completion - The Tram House
We are delighted to announce that we have successfully completed the contract to develop The Tram House, Clapham to provide a new school for 36 pupils with autism and 40 staff.
Now complete, the new school provides much needed specialist education places and excellent facilities to educate Secondary and 6th Form students with autism. The building has been delivered with older students in mind, helping to aid in developing clear pathways to employment and further education. It has also included age-appropriate facilities such as a gym, domestic units, community dining area, social spaces, careers library, and cooking areas.
The construction works, which have been delivered on an extremely confined site have involved the provision of a 4-storey building and a basement, utilising a concrete structure and a Metsec steel frame and composite steel deck flooring to the upper floors.
Design features on the building include a green roof, glazed brick-setts to the ground floor external elevation, and aluminium timber composite windows with full height glazing to the staircase.
In addition, the building achieves a BREEAM 'Very Good' rating and was also awarded the accolade of winner of New Build Large project in a Health & Safety Awards ceremony hosted by H&K Safety Services, this project achieved New Build Large project (Winner).
