Donating materials to support outdoor play at Teynham Parochial CofE Primary School
Our new-build school construction project at Teynham Primary for Kent County Council is progressing well, and the school are excited to be considering how best to utilise the outdoor spaces and surrounding environment to enhance learning and play for pupils.
This week, we were pleased to join the Headteacher in discussions with OPAL (Outdoor Play and Learning), a programme designed to improve the quality of outdoor play in schools. OPAL encourages creative, active, and inclusive play by making the most of outdoor spaces, and we are delighted to be playing a part in this exciting initiative.
As part of our Social Value Action Plan for this project, we will be donating materials and resources from the construction process. These materials will be repurposed as large loose parts and structures, helping to create engaging play opportunities and practical learning activities for the children. By recycling these materials in an innovative way, we are supporting sustainable practices and contributing to a more dynamic and inspiring outdoor environment for pupils.
We look forward to seeing how the school brings these ideas to life and will continue to support them as they develop their outdoor play provision.
