EKC Ashford College construction students tour our Kingsmead Leisure Centre site in Canterbury

We were delighted to welcome a group of EKC Ashford College HNC Construction students and their lecturer to our Kingsmead Leisure Centre scheme this morning, where we are on site carrying out extensive remodelling and refurbishment works to provide new gym, fitness and health suite facilities.

The students were given an in-depth tour of the project by our Site Managers and Health & Safety Manager. They were able to see behind the scenes of this very busy and complex live site, and given the opportunities to ask questions along the way.

We have worked closely with EKC Group for a number of years to create and provide opportunities for students, whether in partnership via our own Employment, Apprenticeship and Training Programme, or through educational activities such as this morning’s visit.

And - for a fitting end to Women in Construction Week and marking International Women’s Day, we were delighted to see that half the group were female!
