Project Progress - Ightham Mote, Sevenoaks
Excellent progress is being made on site at Ightham Mote, Sevenoaks, where we are building a new visitor reception and retail shop together with associated external works.
These photographs show the timber frame of the new building being erected under cover of a temporary roof, protecting the structure from the elements and ensuring the programme is not disrupted by winter weather. Brick and blockwork has started, with work moving on to roof deck, wind posts and Hempcrete blocks shortly.
Once complete, these improved facilities will enable the estate to accommodate its projected increased annual visitor numbers, protecting the conservation of and access to this important National Trust historic house and gardens for future generations of visitors.
Ightham Mote remains open throughout these works, with a full programme of events and activities. Please see website for details Ightham Mote | Kent | National Trust
