Project Progress - Chantry Community Academy, Gravesend
Following our appointment last year, our work on site at the Chantry Community Academy is progressing well.
The existing Primary School which dates back to 1930, located to the northern edge of Gravesend town centre has been demolished to make way for the modern new school on the same site.
Due to the age and design of the existing school building, it was deemed to no longer meet with the standards required for a modern teaching facility. As such, we are working with OSG Architects to design and deliver the new school which will see the new school accommodate 420 primary pupils, increasing the schools current capacity from 1FE to 2FE with provision for 26 nursery places.
Works to the new school building are progressing well and taking shape with the steel frame erection complete and the beams removed in readiness for the Pre-Cast Concrete flooring and metal decking being installed.
Drainage and excavations for the MUGA are also now complete with the area stoned and compacted ready for the next phase of works in the programme.
