Project Progress - Maplesden Noakes, Maidstone
Appointed by Kent County Council as the main contractor to deliver the construction works at Maplesden Noakes School, the construction works on site are progressing well.
With the ground floor concrete slab complete, the installation of the Innovare SIPS (Structural insulated panels system), an offsite modular based construction method is progressing well.
Working closely with Bond Bryan Architects, we have developed the design to utilise SIPs which helps provide a sustainable building; reduces the construction activity on site so as to minimise the disruption to the existing school and aids the delivery of the project to programme through its quick installation process.
Due for completion in Summer 2021, when complete the new teaching block will comprise of 4 number IT Suites, 9 number Classrooms, 1 LRC, Storage Areas, Pupil Toilets and staff areas. In addition to these new facilities, a number of other areas within the existing school will be refurbished to create a science laboratory, food technology and general classrooms.
