Project Progress - Student Accommodation, Giles, Lane, Canterbury
Our Giles Lane project continues to progress well, delivering high-quality student accommodation at the University of Kent. Designed by specialist architects Church Lukas, the three-storey building will provide 91 purpose-built units, including cluster flats, studios, communal lounges, kitchens, and amenity areas. Sustainability is a key focus, with PV panels, a green roof, and careful integration with the adjacent ancient woodland.
Externally, roofing, window installation and brickwork across all elevations are all progressing well. Mechanical and electrical works are underway with pipework and wiring installations ongoing. Internal works including drylining is continuing, with ground floor walls boarded on one side and work started on the first and second floors.
As part of a wider development of five new buildings, Block E will contribute to a modern, sustainable student hub.
We look forward to sharing further updates as work progresses.
