​Providing invaluable work experience for MidKent College student

Further to a social value workshop in partnership with MidKent College earlier this year, we had the pleasure of meeting Kai Martin, a carpentry student with a very special connection to our company.

During the session, Kai shared that he is in fact the grandson of one of the original members of the WW Martin family. It was lovely news that brought a unique personal touch to our ongoing collaboration with the college.

Delighted by this connection and impressed by Kai’s enthusiasm, we were very pleased to offer him a week’s work experience through our Employment Apprenticeship Training Programme (EATP) with our team on site at West Kingsdown, where we are currently delivering a development of affordable new homes on behalf of English Rural Housing Association.

Speaking about his time with us, Kai said:

“I wanted to say thank you for the opportunity you gave me to gain work experience with WW Martin. I learnt loads of new skills within carpentry whilst there. It was a great experience.”

Our Site Manager, Pavel Boyarko added “We are so pleased to have supported Kai’s learning and development and hope this opportunity gives him added confidence as he continues his studies and prepares for a career in the construction industry.”
