Supporting student interview initiatives through our Work Ready Programme

We were proud to support two recent student interview initiatives in May as part of our Work Ready Programme, delivered through our Employment, Apprenticeship and Training Programme (EATP), a core element of our commitment to maximising social value across our public sector projects.

In partnership with the Education Business Partnership (EBP), we took part in Year 10 Interview Mornings for students at both Dane Court Grammar School and Herne Bay High School. These events focused on supporting the development of young people as they prepare for the world of work.

Each session was designed to simulate a real-life interview environment, giving students the chance to take part in one-to-one interviews and receive constructive feedback. For many, it was their first experience of a formal interview, helping to build confidence, develop communication skills, and provide valuable insight into employer expectations.

Feedback from students was overwhelmingly positive:

“Having an interview was an amazing experience!”
“The one-to-one interview was an extremely positive experience.”
“The interview was a very relaxed and calming experience. It was good for any fears about the process.”
“I got so much advice from my interview about what to do in the future! So helpful!”

The impact of these experiences was echoed by our delivery partner. Natalie Coleman of the Education Business Partnership shared:

“We cannot thank you enough for giving students an experience they will use to fuel future job applications and provide surety that this is a process they can do, and do it successfully. Thank you for supporting so many of Kent’s young people and for enabling our charity to put on programmes of this nature.”

We are proud to continue working with the Education Business Partnership to create meaningful and practical opportunities for young people across the region. These initiatives play an important role in helping students gain real-world experience, explore future career pathways, and develop the interpersonal and employability skills that will support their future success.

Special thanks to Discovery Park for hosting, to EBP for their expert organisation, and to the staff and students of Dane Court Grammar School and Herne Bay High School for their enthusiastic participation.
