Works Start on Site for the delivery of 'The Great Hall'

Following a competitive tender process, works have began on site today for the delivery of The Great Hall at Kent College Canterbury.

The new performing arts building will consist of an auditorium with retractable seating for the capacity of 300 in theatre mode and 600 in assembly mode. The new building will also include all of the other associated facilities including dressing rooms, toilets and performance studios.

It will be used as a versatile and practical space for the school’s highly regarded drama and music departments as well as for the wider local community.

The building itself will feature a low-energy passive labyrinth heating and ventilation system, photo-voltaic cells and will be built to comply to the highest level of sustainability standards.
