WW Martin Announce Hypo Hounds as Charity of the Year for 2025
We are delighted to announce that our chosen Charity of the Year for 2025 is Hypo Hounds. This incredible charity trains specialist dogs to detect and alert to dangerous changes in their Type 1 Diabetic owner’s blood sugar levels, helping to prevent potentially life-threatening medical incidents.
Hypo Hounds’ diabetic alert dogs provide a vital service, particularly to children, allowing them to live with greater independence and freedom. By alerting their owners or their families to both hypoglycaemia (low blood sugar, known as ‘hypos’) and hyperglycaemia (high blood sugar, known as ‘hypers’), these highly trained dogs play a crucial role in managing the condition and ensuring the wellbeing of those affected.
Throughout the year, we will be engaging in a variety of fundraising activities and initiatives to support Hypo Hounds in their mission to change lives through the power of medical alert assistance dogs. We have committed to raising enough money to purchase and support a puppy through its initial training, right up until the moment it joins its new family.
We are very pleased to support this vital Kent-based charity and look forward to working with them across the year.
Jane Pearman, CEO of Hypo Hounds, said: "We are absolutely thrilled to be partnering with WW Martin as their Charity of the Year for 2025. Their commitment to supporting our work will make a significant difference, and we are excited to collaborate on a range of fundraising activities throughout the year. Together, we can help more children with Type 1 Diabetes gain independence and security through the incredible abilities of our diabetic alert dogs."
