Contract Award: Refurbishment of Kingsmead Leisure Centre, Canterbury

We are delighted to have secured the contract to undertake a multi-million refurbishment at Kingsmead Leisure Centre in Canterbury.

Following our recent appointment, we have now commenced our construction works on site and are very pleased to be undertaking this exciting new project in the heart of Canterbury.

The investment by Active Life, supported by Canterbury City Council, will provide the community with more facilities, space and leisure services. It will revitalise the leisure centre, incorporating new areas including a large gym with fitness area, three fitness studios and a health suite, as well as significant improvements to the swimming pool and sports hall.

Features of the new centre will also include a welcoming new entrance foyer and modern new café area. The car park is also being extended to cater for increased visitors during peak times, and new electric car charging points will be installed.

When complete, the sports facilities will include new spin, wellness and yoga studios as well as a state-of-the-art new gym that includes a dedicated new ‘Intencity Studio’. The wellness offering will be further enhanced by a new Health Suite that will include a relaxing sauna, steam room and ice room.
