WW Martin - Coronavirus Statement 26th March
26th March 2020
Dear Industry Colleagues and Stakeholders,
Further to our advisory note earlier this week, we can now provide a further update on our business operations on site.
The Board of Directors have been closely following Government guidelines and keeping sites open this week, however following a Board Meeting to review the Coronavirus situation on a daily basis, we have made the decision to temporarily suspend all site activities from 5pm on Friday the 27th March.
This decision has been taken after much careful consideration and close communication with our site teams, suppliers and subcontractors. The main point of consideration has been the important requirement to adhere to the Public Health England guidelines of ensuring the 2-metre social distancing rule at all times.
Taking into account the feedback of our Contracts Managers and Site Managers in respect of the difficulty in enforcing social distancing on site, we have deemed it necessary to take the responsible action to temporarily close our sites and consider the health and well-being of all persons first and foremost in this difficult time for everybody.
Please be assured that whilst activity on site is temporarily suspended, all other aspects of our work will progress. We would also like to emphasise that all Directors and staff are available both on email and mobile telephone as we continue to work remotely.
We will closely monitor the situation on a day-by-day basis and take guidance from the Government. We very much hope that by all of us taking the appropriate action, we can all stay safe and normal activities can return as soon as possible.
Finally, we will provide regular updates and maintain close communication with all of our industry colleagues and stakeholders during this period. Thank you for your understanding in the decision we have taken.
Best wishes for and behalf of WW Martin
Mike Darling, Director
