WW Martin enjoy multiple successes in the East Kent Apprenticeship Awards 2023
We were delighted to celebrate the success of our Employment Apprenticeship and Training Programme (EATP), the exceptional work being undertaken by our HR Manager, Employment and Skills Champion - Angela Gardiner, and not least our fantastic apprentices themselves this week, following the EKA Awards ceremony held at the Yarrow Hotel, Broadstairs.
The event was organised by Kent marketing agency Pillory Barn in partnership with EKC Group, a leading provider of education in East Kent. It was an opportunity to showcase what is being achieved across numerous sectors engaged with apprenticeships, while celebrating the outstanding apprentices, employers and those who go above and beyond to champion these opportunities within our communities.
As a business we are wholly committed to and passionate about creating opportunities in the construction industry through our EATP, and our apprenticeship placements are central to this.
We were therefore delighted to enjoy success in multiple categories in this year’s EKA Awards 2023, especially having been unaware that we had been nominated in two categories:
- Angela Gardiner - Winner, East Kent Apprenticeship Champion of the Year - celebrating an individual who has acted as East Kent’s best ambassador for apprenticeships, going above and beyond to promote opportunitie to a wider audience
- Daniel Fox – Winner, Construction Apprentice of the Year – an apprentice who shows the skills, determination, and an exemplary attitude to progress his career in construction
- Joshua King – Finalist, Business Management and Administration Apprentice of the Year – an apprentice who is highly motivated, has a real thirst for knowledge, and who has the skills to succeed
- WW Martin – Finalist, Private Sector Business of the Year - recognising businesses that consistently go the extra mile, who actively provide apprenticeships and champion them within their industry, providing a clear pathway into employment.
