WW Martin wins H&S Principal Contractor Award for the Third Time
Following the Health & Safety Awards hosted by H&K Safety Services on the 16th October, we are delighted to announce that we have received no fewer than 4 Health & Safety Awards, including Principal Contractor of the Year for the best overall safety record across our sites.
This is an excellent achievement for our business and we congratulate and thank everybody who has helped us to deliver exceptional levels of H&S across our sites.
As a main contractor, H&S is of paramount importance to our work and we will continue to ensure that it remains at the forefront of our pre-contract and construction activities.
Refurbishment large project - Winner - Megger, Dover
This exciting project is for the construction of a new factory/ warehouse extension and internal refurbishment of the existing warehouse and offices on a busy occupied manufacturing site. The site at Dover has been the location of Megger's headquarters since the 1960’s and currently employs 260 highly skilled staff in the design, development and manufacture of electrical testing equipment.
Refurbishment medium project - Winner - 17 - 21 Warwick Road, Cliftonville
The former disused building has been successfully converted into 3no. four bedroom maisonettes and 4no. two bedroom flats.
Each property has been tastefully designed and built to create a modern living environment, with all of the maisonettes and flats being equipped with good sized bedrooms, a separate living room, bathroom and a kitchen/diner. Each of the new owners will also benefit from access to the private rear garden and a well planned refuse and cycle storage in the front garden.
The main aspect of the construction works involved the demolition of previously extended parts of the existing building with the original bay windows and front door reinstated to enhance the special architectural quality of the area.
New build medium project - Winner - Altira Business Park, Herne Bay
These striking looking new light industrial / warehouse units at Altira Park in Herne Bay were completed in June 2020.
The project was successfully built using a large steel frame system and external cladding system to a very short programme. Extensive external groundworks were also undertaken which included a new access road, footpaths, a large area of forecourt parking as well as associated soft landscaping, lighting and fencing.
These new units mark part of the ongoing development of Altira Park which is set to offer some 30 acres of high quality business space.
