Staff undertake volunteering work in the local community

As part of our work to support the local communities in which we work, we are pleased to provide opportunities for our staff to undertake volunteering activities as part of their working day.

Our first event of the year in April proved to be hugely successful with almost one hundred staff volunteering hours spent working at St Peters Church, Broadstairs. Armed with our striking new hi-vis volunteering jackets, various garden tools and some good spirit, our team helped tackle the particularly vicious brambles and weeds to give the churchyard a fresh and tidy look for spring.

Recognising the many benefits of such an initiative, we believe that staff volunteering activities can support the wellbeing of our staff, provide valuable teamwork experiences, and help make a real contribution to supporting the local community.

On the back of the success of this first event, we have been busy planning several more events and will be hoping for pleasant weather in May as we head to the beach in Thanet to help keep our coastline clean.
