WW Martin support Margate RNLI Lifeboat Station

This weekend, we were delighted to support the Margate RNLI Lifeboat Station by attending the Naming Ceremony and Service of Dedication for their new lifeboat, the B-930 Colonel Stock.

The Colonel Stock is the third lifeboat to be funded by a legacy bequeathed to the RNLI at the end of the 19th century.

RNLI Margate took delivery of their new lifeboat at the start of 2022, and she has already been tasked on 50 rescue missions and assisted in the saving of two lives.

The ceremony also paid tribute to our own Senior Site Manager Derek Amas, who is the Lifeboat Operations Manager at Margate. Derek was presented with his Long Service Medal of thirty years - an incredible achievement recognising his personal dedication and commitment to saving lives at sea.

After the service, the crew took the new lifeboat out to sea for an impressive demonstration of her speed, manoeuvrability and versatility.

Margate RNLI Lifeboat Station is our chosen charity for 2023, and we are delighted to be supporting them with a range of fundraising events over the year.
