WW Martin welcomes Thanet District Council Senior Management Team to site

Last week, we were delighted to welcome members of Thanet District Council’s Senior Management Team for a series of site visits showcasing progress on their most ambitious social housing project to date, organised by James Young, Programme Delivery Officer – Housing & Planning at Thanet District Council.

Attendees included Chief Executive Colin Carmichael, Director of Place Bob Porter, and Head of Housing & Planning Ashley Jackson, along with other senior colleagues from across Property, Regeneration & Growth, Environment, and Strategy & Transformation, as well as other key functions at Thanet District Council.

During the afternoon, the group visited all four TDC-owned brownfield sites in Margate and Ramsgate where our construction teams are delivering a total of 49 high-specification affordable rent homes. Designed to focus on net zero carbon principles, the project represents a significant step forward in delivering sustainable social housing for the district.

As a local company based in Ramsgate, we bring significant benefits to the project, enabling strong community engagement and close collaboration with the local supply chain. We also support local employment and apprenticeships, with the vast majority of labour coming from the surrounding area, ensuring that investment directly benefits the community.

The 15-month build is progressing well, with excellent programme delivery ensuring that scheduled handovers between November 2025 and February 2026 remain firmly on track. All units will be allocated to households on the TDC Housing Register at affordable rent levels.
