Our works at Medway Hospital to provide a new car park at the busy hospital site in Gillingham, Kent have been successfully completed.
Works on site involved the demolition of several existing residential buildings which historically were used as accommodation within the Hospital grounds. As the buildings were no longer fit for purpose and had not been used for a number of years having, these buildings were demolished to make way for additional parking facilities to help accommodate the high number of visitors to Medway Hospital.
One of the most important aspects of our approach to the delivery of this project centered around our detailed logistics plans for the site. With the site bordered by other car parking areas all within a live Hospital environment, clear access in and around the hospital access roads and car parks had to be maintained at all times.
With the works carefully planned, another important aspect of our approach to the works was how we could minimise the environmental impacts of the work. Our team implemented our re-use or recycle initiative, successfully ensuring the bricks from the demolished buildings were reclaimed and stored for future use.
