Description

This project will revitalise the leisure centre and provide the community with exciting new and improved leisure facilities in the heart of Canterbury.

The newly-designed and remodelled spaces will incorporate a large state-of-the-art gym with fantastic fitness areas, including three studios, a health suite with sauna, steam and ice rooms.

In addition, significant improvements to the sports hall are being delivered to provide modern spaces for people to relax, train and enjoy.

A large steel frame extension to the rear of the existing building will accommodate many of the new and improved facilities when complete. Meanwhile, the existing building is undergoing a series of extensive internal refurbishment and remodelling works.

This includes alterations to the layout and structure of the internal spaces, with major mechanical and electrical works also being undertaken.

All works are being carefully managed whilst many parts of the leisure centre remain open to the public, including the main swimming pool, which was a key consideration to our project methodology for the site.

Our project team will continue to progress the works in 2024 and we look forward to completing this major and exciting transformation to the Kingsmead Leisure Centre.
