Description

The refurbishment of the male and female theatre changing rooms at Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother Hospital formed part of East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust’s ongoing investment in improving staff facilities across the acute estate.

Delivered for 2gether Support Solutions on behalf of the Trust, the project focused on upgrading existing changing accommodation serving the operating theatre department. The works included the installation of new WCs, showers and lockers, alongside improvements to internal finishes to create a more modern, functional and durable environment for clinical staff.

While operating within the theatre department, essential fire compartmentation improvements were also undertaken within the surrounding area. These works formed part of the Trust’s wider fire safety programme and contributed to improved compliance and life safety standards.

The project was delivered by our Special Projects team, who were responsible for planning, sequencing and coordinating the works to ensure a smooth delivery within a sensitive clinical environment.
